How we can help you reduce teen pregnancy, STI/HIV rates, and prepare your youth for adulthood?
PREP District 1 FAQ
What is PREP?
The Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) is a statewide initiative aimed to provide career preparation, financial literacy skill building, healthy relationship skill building, and comprehensive sexual health education for youth ages 14-21 in foster care, group homes, independent living, the juvenile justice system, alternative schools, pregnant teens, and/or new teen parents.
What’s in the PREP Curriculum?
- Making Proud Choices (MPC) – includes 8 lessons to provide youth with the knowledge, confidence and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms if they choose to have sex.
- Adulthood Topics Module – includes 3 modules on healthy relationships, career building skills, and financial literacy skills to prepare youth to be responsible adults.
- Coming Soon – Beyond the Birds & the Bees! The purpose of this parent/guardian workshop is to increase the ability for adults to talk with young people about sex, using accurate information and resources.
