PREP is funded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services for the purposes of providing an evidence-based adult preparation curriculum to youth between the ages of 14-21 who are in foster care, group homes, independent living, juvenile justice, or alternative schools.

Using the “Making Proud Choices” evidence-based curriculum, we are delivering comprehensive sexual education to at-risk youth in Ohio.
We serve District 1 of the Ohio PREP initiative which includes the following 20 counties in Ohio

Register for the Coalition Meeting
Our next virtual coalition meeting will be held on December 17th from 9:30am-11:30am. We have two guest speakers from OhioGuidestone, Kathryn Adams and Emmie Badalamenti. Kathryn is the Assistant Director at OGS who oversees their Problematic Sexual Behavior program. Emmie is the Clinical Supervisor who also works in the Problematic Sexual Behavior program. They will be discussing and providing a training on victim sexual abuse, youth problematic sexual behavior amongst youth offenders ages 12-17, risk factors, age of consent, Ohio state laws and the stigma around the title “juvenile sexual offender”, and many more topics! Want to provide PREP to your youth? This 1-day training will provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills, materials, and resources to facilitate the “Making Proud Choices” curriculum and Adult Preparation Module with the youth you serve. All youth serving professionals, organizations and/or community members working youth ages 14-21 in foster care, group homes, independent living, the juvenile justice system, or alternative schools are welcome to register and join us! Our next facilitator training will take place on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 8am-4:30pm. We are holding this training at Richland Public Health or offered virtually through Zoom. Registration is required and ends on Friday, November 15, 2024.
At the District 1 PREP Coalition meeting on January 24th, we were joined by Ben Stevens and Luna Malbroux from Soul Bird Consulting, who conducted a Cultural Humility training. If you were unable to attend, you can watch the recording.
At the District 1 PREP Coalition meeting on October 7th, we were joined by Sarah Buffie, Founding Director of Soul Bird Consulting, who conducted a Trauma Response Care training. Sarah’s goal is to spread awareness about how trauma affects the brain and body, and teach effective interventions for developing resilience within people and organizations.
