Richland Public Health will have a first-dose Moderna COVID-19 vaccination clinic this week on Friday, May 7.  Call the 614-881-1882 number to schedule. Walk-ins are also welcome between 9-11 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. The Clinic is in the Corley Room, with entrance through the lower back parking lot.

There will be a mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Richland County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 8, from 1 – 5 p.m. This drive-thru clinic will be using the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Register through https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/ or call 1-833-427-5634.

Richland Public Health is now vaccinating all ages 18 and up. Call 614-881-1882 for appointments.

Richland Public Health has the Moderna vaccine for ages 18 and older. The Pfizer vaccine is approved for ages 16 and 17.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Questions and Answers for Richland Public Health registration

Q: Is there a charge for the phone call?

A: Yes, for cell phone users. If you have a land line, you may call the toll free number 1-866-395-1588 until June 15.

Q: What hours can I call?

A: The Central Scheduling number is open from 9 am to 7  pm Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. There are multiple operators. Please remain on hold to talk to a person (don’t leave a message).

Q: Can I call for my parents?

A: Yes.

Q: What do I have to provide when I call?

A: You will be asked to provide your name and age. You will not be billed for the call or for the vaccine at any time.

Q: When I call, do I need to tell them about any medical conditions I have?

A: No. Everyone qualifies as of March 24. You do not need to give any medical conditions.

Q: How are appointments made?

A: Appointments are at pre-scheduled time slots depending on availability of vaccine. Appointments are on a first come, first served basis. You will get an appointment day and time. Appointments will be from between 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 4 pm Monday through Friday. You may schedule at ANY location but only make one appointment.

Q: Where do I go to get my vaccine shot after I have an appointment time?

A: All appointments with Richland Public Health will be in the Corley Room (lower level, back parking lot). Richland Public Health is located at 555 Lexington Avenue in Mansfield. Please park in the lower lot. The entrance to the Corley Room is in the back (follow signs on the sidewalk). There are no stairs and there is a restroom available.

Please ask for directions if you schedule with another location.

Q: Do you have pandemic safety protocols in place?

A: Yes. Everyone will be required to wear a mask. We will have masks available if you do not have one. Social distance is maintained for everyone and hand sanitizers are available. You will do your own temperature check for added safety.

As with ANY vaccine, if you are ill, you need to wait until you are feeling better to get it. Please Do Not Come To Any Vaccinations Clinics If You Are Ill (fever 100.4 or higher, cough, short of breath, muscle/body aches, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.).

Q: What if I have to cancel my appointment?

A: Please call the Central Scheduling toll free number above to reschedule. You may not give your time to someone else. If you cancel, your time slot becomes available to the next caller. You can not give it to someone else as it is registered in your name.

Q: What type of COVID-19 Vaccine is Richland Public Health using?

Update for March 16, 2021 (4 p.m.): Continuing Phase 1B, Phase 1C, Phase 2A.  Starting Phase 1D and Phase 2B (see below)

We have Moderna COVID-19 Vaccination appointments available for Thursday (3/18) and Friday (3/19). Individuals in Phase 1A 1B, 1C, 1D and Phase 2A and 2B (age 50 and older) may schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment by calling the Richland Public Health registration number: 866-395-1588. It is best to wait to speak to someone rather than leaving a call back number.

Here’s Ohio’s plan:

  • Pregnant women, those with Type-1 diabetes, those with bone marrow transplants, those living with ALS will be eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine as part of Phase 1C. Additionally, law enforcement and corrections officers, funeral home workers and childcare providers will also be eligible to get the vaccine.
  • Phase 2 of vaccinations will include those who are age 60 and above.
  • Phase 1D is people with Type 2 Diabetes and end-stage renal disease (started Thursday, March 11).
  • Phase 2B is people age 50 and older (started Thursday, March 11).
