PREP is funded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services for the purposes of providing an evidence-based adult preparation curriculum to youth between the ages of 14-21 who are in foster care, group homes, independent living, juvenile justice, or alternative schools.

Using the “Making Proud Choices” evidence-based curriculum, we are delivering comprehensive sexual education to at-risk youth in Ohio.
We serve District 1 of the Ohio PREP initiative which includes the following 20 counties in Ohio

Register for the Coalition Meeting
Please join us Thursday, September 26 from 1-3pm. This will be a virtual meeting through Zoom. We will be hearing from Victoria Graham, the Regional Director of Mental Health Services at OhioGuidestone, as well as, Catherine Crawford who oversees the DBT program at OhioGuidestone. They will be conducting a suicide awareness and prevention training, in commemoration of Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month; as well as, discussing the DBT program offered at OhioGuidestone. This program is evidence-based and is intended for individuals experiencing high risk behaviors including suicidal ideation. Please email Catherine Rischar to register for the meeting.

Want to provide PREP to your youth? This 1-day training will provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills, materials, and resources to facilitate the “Making Proud Choices” curriculum and Adult Preparation Module with the youth you serve. All youth serving professionals, organizations and/or community members working youth ages 14-21 in foster care, group homes, independent living, the juvenile justice system, or alternative schools are welcome to register and join us! Our next Facilitator Training will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 8:00am-4:30pm at Richland Public Health. Registration is required and the registration deadline is May 20th.
At the District 1 PREP Coalition meeting on January 24th, we were joined by Ben Stevens and Luna Malbroux from Soul Bird Consulting, who conducted a Cultural Humility training. If you were unable to attend, you can watch the recording.
At the District 1 PREP Coalition meeting on October 7th, we were joined by Sarah Buffie, Founding Director of Soul Bird Consulting, who conducted a Trauma Response Care training. Sarah’s goal is to spread awareness about how trauma affects the brain and body, and teach effective interventions for developing resilience within people and organizations.
